Glyfz128 Example Splash Screens
This page shows a couple of examples of how
easy it is to create a splash screen using the Glyfz128 images together with the
supplied splash screen backgrounds.
The OSX style splash screen background was opened and the calendar-2
and magnifying glass images pasted in to the "logo" layer of the
splash screen background. The application title was
then added top the "title" layer and finally the version and copyright text
added to the "other text" layer. These elements were moved to their final
positions (easy as everything is in layers) and the background resized to the
required height before being saved as a .png Took longer to pick a font
for the title than to put the rest together. It's a good idea to save also save
the image in it's layered state, in this instance if I had I probably would have
gone back in and added drop shadows to the text.

This is slightly more work, but not much, and
uses a composite image. The logo was created using briefcase-2 as the basis and
adding the ruler, pen, brush and paper to the contents layer after being resized
as required. The brushed metal splash screen background was chosen. Again
once the composite image had been pasted in to the logo layer of the background
and the text added the background was resized. In this instance as the texture
isn't uniform the bottom horizontal line was drawn at the required position on
the excess cropped.
